Lyndon,
Thank you for this past year. Despite everything we have been through, I am beyond proud to have been your president. We all know it has not been easy. We have fought hard both for Lyndon and against each other in SGA meetings. We have had late nights and early mornings, all for the betterment of our institution and community. I could not be more proud of, your dedication to saving Lyndon.
I ran for President because I have a passion for Lyndon. Every time I drive up McGoff Hill, into Stonehenge parking lot, and see Burke Mountain on the right, I feel something in my gut. I am overwhelmed with pride and love for this campus. No matter how frustrated or distracted or whatever I am feeling, the second I crest that hill and stop at the stop sign, I am fine. I always take a deep breath and know that I am home. That feeling is why I ran for President. I wanted to be an advocate for everyone on this campus and work to better it so that many more students can feel that same feeling I always feel. There were things I was able to do that I am proud of, and mistakes I have made that I am not. Nevertheless, I am proud of my
presidency and this past school year.
I am immensely proud of how far SGA has come. Hopefully, you all had as much fun as I have. One of my biggest goals was to make SGA fun and interesting. The SGA meetings had a reputation of being boring and a chore that clubs have to participate in to get funding. My goal was to make it more than that. Whether or not I achieved that goal is up to all of you.
I cannot thank you all enough for this past year. I wish the new board luck with everything and I will always be cheering for SGA and the Lyndon community, long after I graduate.
I am leaving my post as the Student Government Association President with these three things:
- Always seek the truth,
- Work to support each other,
- And be kind.
Thank you.
