Lyndon’s Campus Activities Board went to the Star Theatre on March 23rd. The CAB crew went to watch the highly anticipated Captain Marvel. The movie starred lead actor Brie Larson as Captain Marvel and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. I had high hopes going into this movie.
With a Rotten Tomato score of 78% and the always good certified fresh stamp of approval, this movie looked to be a good one. CAB students flooded the entryway waiting to get their tickets, giddy with excitement to watch the movie the whole world was talking about. When the lights turned black and the movie started, I was in for the full ride.
Brie Larson did a good job of creating a likable funny sarcastic character, who always seemed to find the right words to say. The audience was enjoying the movie, and it seemed like every 5 minutes the audience would lash out with an uncontrollable laughter. The movie was also interesting, with a huge plot twist and an ending no one saw coming. When Captain Marvel was over, the audience left the theater all in smiles and chatter about the crazy ending, probably talking all the way home to Lyndonville.
I would give this movie a 7/10. The movie was good, but the plot holes with some characters left me scratching my head and asking why and how. It’s a superhero movie, though, so it gets off the hook a little.
