CAB Hosts Annual Red Sox Trip

After a whole school year has passed, CAB once again hosted a trip for students to watch a Boston Red Sox home game. It has been a long tradition of Northern Vermont University – Lyndon to take its students to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Last year’s trip, however, was canceled due to COVID-19.

Many students were excited to go on this trip. Out of over 40 sign-ups, 25 students rode the bus to Boston. James Salvas, a second-year student, has been to Fenway Park a few times, but stated “It’s exciting that the school [NVU-Lyndon] is letting students go to Fenway Park, with tickets already paid for.”

Lane Mattison, a first-year student, was happy to go to Fenway Park, “Everything was fun, from the baseball game to the bus ride to the game, and back on campus. I really enjoyed myself.”

The Boston Red Sox competed against the Cleveland Indians, looking to keep their playoffs hopes alive. The Red Sox went on to defeat Cleveland 4-3 in the 9th inning, with the help of a walk-off double by Alex Verdugo. The Red Sox record increases to 79-59.
