The NVU-Lyndon Campus Activities Board met in the Alumni Dining Room in Steven’s Dining Hall in the afternoon of November 11 to discuss upcoming events on campus. The general board meeting started at 5:14 PM with recaps of past events and advertising the upcoming activities of this week and next.
The Lyndon Family Feud event that had been postponed for weeks due to a lack of responses finally took place in the evening of November 5. A surprising 21 students turned out for the event in The Hive, with suggestions and interest for a similar and bigger event in the future.
CAB also partnered with WWLR for their second Open Mic Night of the semester. This event also took place in The Hive on November 7 and had around 25 students in attendance. Community favorite student musicians and comedians returned for an awesome night of head-bopping and hearty laughs.
However, a handful of CAB members were not able to attend the Open Mic Night as they were headed to Connecticut for the National Association for Campus Activities Conference. The NACA Conference gives student organizations like CAB the chance to sample types of college entertainment that they may be willing to spend money on. Eight students and advisor Mike Secreti took notes on these activities from November 7 to November 10 when they returned to the NVU-Lyndon campus. You can expect these notes to be presented at this week’s SGA General Board meeting (November 13) and next week’s CAB General Board meeting (November 18).
This week, CAB will be hosting MEME Jeopardy! on November 14 at 8:00 PM in The Hive.
The 12th Annual Northern Vermont University Leadership Conference is this Saturday, November 16, on the NVU-Lyndon campus. Students from neighboring colleges attend the conference to learn from their peers about communication, event planning, and how to lead. Registration must be done ahead of time in order to attend. For more information, visit their website!
Next week, CAB is expected to host two Tuesday events on November 19. In the late morning and early afternoon, a DIY Hot Cocoa Mix event will be held in the Theatre Lobby. In the evening, CAB is hosting comedian Lafayette Wright in the Alexander Twilight Theatre.
The meeting concluded at 5:19 PM. CAB regularly meets in the Alumni Dining Room in Steven’s Dining Hall at 5:00 PM on Mondays. CAB’s Facebook page is also a great place to stay updated on events and free stuff given away by the club!
