As snow starts to fall on the NVU-Lyndon campus, fall has not yet been forgotten. On November 14th, CAB sponsored a Fall Centerpiece Making workshop. Everyone was welcome to de-stress and have fun while making a beautiful fall centerpiece to take home.
Students, staff, and faculty participated in the Fall Centerpiece Making Workshop that took place outside of the theatre. There were a variety of options for people to choose from to create their own unique centerpiece. Pumpkins were provided to hollow out and then fill with beautiful fall colored flowers.
This event was a great way to bring students and faculty from across campus together before the upcoming holiday break for some relaxing fall fun, and junior Olivia Hoag agreed. “I think it’s nice to do a hands-on activity, and relax and think about that you will get a week off.”
To make a fall centerpiece, students and faculty first had to hollow a small pumpkin out. Then take green foam to put in the pumpkin so the decorations would stick inside. Afterwards, everyone at the event got to tie bows and ribbons, and place flowers of all different sizes, cuts, and colors into the pumpkin. This created a one of a kind fall DIY centerpiece for each person to take home.
This event, among many others, is offered to anyone of campus, and is easily accessible so everyone can join in on the fun. CAB, the Campus Activities Board, sponsored the fall centerpiece-making event that was relaxing and fun for all. Students were interacting and enjoying the warmth inside, while also being able to be creative and take something home with them. “It’s nice, and it’s going to be Thanksgiving break, and I can bring it home to my family,” Hoag said.
This is just one of the many events CAB sponsors. All students and faculty are encouraged to attend and enjoy the fun and social events that happen throughout the school year.
