There is no better way to kick off a Saturday night than with some fireworks. Northern Vermont University – Lyndon hosted a Family Day on September 21 that started off with a series of events to entertain the visiting families that have decided to visit their students at Lyndon. There was a pre-firework party at 7 p.m. and the fireworks were scheduled to take place on the Observation Deck at 8:30 p.m.
Many students and family members gathered on President’s Hill to watch the show and others gathered in the center of campus with blankets and chairs. People began to show up on the Observation Deck around 8:00 p.m. Children, adults, and students attended the event. Many people were socializing until 8:23 p.m. when the Observation Deck light was turned off. At that point, the crowd waited with anticipation to see the fireworks.
“I hope this year’s fireworks are good.”
“I come here every year.”
“This is my first time coming.”
These quotes were repeated by several people throughout the first 30 minutes of waiting for the show. The first firework was shot at 8:25 p.m. Afterward, there was a long pause before more were shot.
“Wow!”
“Amazing!”
“Great!”
The fireworks ended at approximately 8:45 p.m. By the end of the night, the crowd was booming with positive feedback. Many even clapped for more.
“They were actually really good.”
“I can’t believe how amazing they were.”
