The final day of Homecoming Weekend, Sunday, September 29th, held several different games at the university, including a soccer game against SUNY Cobleskill.
At 9 AM, the day started with an Alumni Council meeting, the governing body for the Alumni Association. Every graduate of Lyndon is automatically a member of the Alumni Association.
The Family Brunch started at 10:30 AM and lasted until 1:30 PM in the Steven’s Dining Hall. It cost $8.85 per person and, according to
theonline menu, there was Canadian bacon, scrambled eggs, waffles, and lyonnaise potatoes on the breakfast menu. The lunch menu included charred corn, green chili pork stew over rice, refried beans, and more.
The first game of the day was the Women’s Basketball vs Alumni game at 11 AM in the George W. Stannard Gymnasium. The Lyndon Hornets beat the alumni in this game, putting up a great fight.
Lyndon Baseball beat the alumni in a great game at the Skip Pound Baseball Field, including a homerun from junior Ryan Alt. At the same time, the Lyndon Softball team tied the Alumni at the Skip Pound Softball Field 4-4, according toKaren Collier, who streamed the game on Facebook for those who weren’t able to make it. During these two games, concessions and some Lyndon gear were able to be purchased to help fund the Lyndon Softball team’s trip to Myrtle Beach in February.
Lyndon Men’s Soccer versus SUNY Cobleskill at Varsity Field started at noon. The game ended with a score of 10-0 in favor of Cobleskill,making Lyndon’s season 0-7-1 overall and 0-2 in the NAC. Lyndon had 3 shots, one of which was on goal while SUNY Cobleskill had 40 shots, 21 of those on goal. Lyndon had 11 total saves during the game, and Cobleskill had 1. Cobleskill had 8 fouls, and Lyndon had 2. One yellow card was pulled on Cobleskill’s Conner Fancher (#27) an hour and 14 minutes into the game for a high kick on Lyndon’s Matthew McGeehan (#6).
