The New England Newspaper & Press Association (NENPA) has recently opened its annual scholarship applications. Every year, NENPA offers ten $1,000 scholarships to aspiring journalists in the New England area.
Students interested can download the official application at NENPA’s website, where they can also learn more about eligibility and the organization.
Eligibility
Students must be residents of New England (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Rhode Island) to be eligible for this scholarship.
The scholarship is open to both high school seniors and undergraduate college students that plan to study/are studying Journalism or any related field(s).
All student applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Alongside the application, students must turn in a cover letter, a transcript, a resume, a letter of recommendation, and a sample of writing. The sample of writing, originally by the applicant, can be from a published source like their campus newspaper or from one of their journalism related courses.
