New Online Bookstore Announced for NVU

There will be a new bookstore for NVU students starting with the summer session 2022, eCampus, announced in an email earlier this semester by Dean of Administration Roy Brock.

When asked what prompted the change and Brock said, “Changes to our vendor relationship were not made on a whim and were discussed to ask what is best for our students and faculty. The answer was that eCampus offered a platform where we would be able to not only curb ongoing issues with book rental returns, with availability of titles when classes start, but also the issues around just being able to get customer service response and corrections to issues in a timely fashion. They offer great prices to students and not only their own standard purchase options but offer a marketplace from which students can shop as well.  This all-increases student options to save on their classroom materials.”

Dean of Students Jonathan Davis told The Critic, “I believe that eCampus will provide NVU students with a level of online service they haven’t had before. They specialize in remote services and have a web platform that will feel more like a “Big Box Store” online shopping experience. We are working on plans for students and employees to be able to touch, size, and feel apparel before scanning a QR code to purchase. We still have much to work out, but we are excited about this new partnership.”

NVU-Lyndon student Johannah Parker shared her thoughts on the change. She said, “I think it will be beneficial for students on campus so that they don’t have to drive to Johnson to pick up a book.”

The closure of the Johnson campus bookstore will result from partnering with eCampus and be replaced with the launching of a full-service 24/7 online bookstore. There will be updates as the implementation of the new bookstore vendor progresses.
