For college sports fans, this time of year marks the start for the craze called March Madness, the branded name for the NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament. This tournament happens every spring and is a single game elimination. 64 different schools go against each other to try to win the division title. Many enjoy March Madness for the fun of filling out their brackets, where people predict who will win each game.
The first game played for March Madness was on Tuesday evening. The two schools playing were Fairleigh Dickinson and Prairie View. The game was a fun one to watch and it was a great way to kick off March Madness. In the end, Fairleigh Dickinson took the win, with the ending score being 82-76.
To celebrate, students came to the Crevecoeur and Whitelaw lounge to enjoy the food provided and the game. Many sat around the television watching the game intensely as it will affect their March Madness brackets. While others hung out enjoying the social event.
Throughout the night, students came in and out of the lounge to watch and socialize with others around. Overall the event was a success and many enjoyed the game and the kick off into March Madness.
