Early Saturday Morning, fifty or so students lined up in front of ASAC for a six-hour bus ride to New York City. Trip attendees were tired, but excited to spend the day off campus with old and new friends alike. They were excited to see the sun and to see the temperatures finally get out of the freezing mark.
Temperatures were in the upper 50s, almost 60s, and sunscreen was absolutely needed. People were even ice skating at the iconic Rockefeller Center in shorts and t-shirts. While parts of the ice were pooling with water, that did not stop the children and some adults from skating.
The bus dropped us off right in the beautiful Bryant Park at around 10am. While most of us went our separate ways, there was so much to experience. I was excited to take some pictures of iconic broadcast sites including The Today Show, Fox News, The Tonight Show/ Saturday Night Live, The Steven Colbert Show, and Good Morning America. Most of the other students had a chance to visit a bunch of stores including the iconic Hershey’s Chocolate World and M&M World to take a whiff of the sweet smell of chocolate as you entered. Some students even got to go to a Broadway Show to see some well-known shows.
By 5:30 pm everyone was exhausted and ready to board the bus back to campus for the long ride. While we did not get back to campus until around 1:00 am, it was a great experience for everyone.
