The sole purpose of NVUnity is to help people not feel alone and have a safe space on campus. It is an all-inclusive club where everyone is welcome. It’s not designed to be an LGBTQ+ exclusive club–people of different cultures, religions, ethics, and races are welcome to every club meeting. They meet every Monday at 4:30 in the Rita Bole Community Room.
NVUnity’s Executive Board is made up of President Alexander Therriault who has really enjoyed being able to fill this position and is one of many people on campus that believed in this club from the start. Dakotah Lubbert is the treasurer and partial SGA representative. Mary Berger acts as the Secretary and the other SGA representative. Finally, Annabelle Hipp stands as NVUnity’s Vice President. The club is always looking for both more general board and Executive Board members. Therriault has also mentioned that he “would like to see a more diverse group of people” attend meetings and accept leadership roles within the club itself.
NVUnity has planned a pride week in late-March with multiple events throughout the week for every student on campus. Besides this event-filled week, the club is always open to new ideas and to try different things. The goal is for people to have fun and feel like they have a space that they feel comfortable in. NVUnity wants people to make connections that they will have for a long time.
